29 Nov Mayver’s Super Spread Review
What is it?
An all-natural, no added sugar nut and seed butter.
Nutritional info per 20g serve:
485Kj, 10g fat, 2g saturated fat, 4g protein, 5g carbohydrates, 1g sugar, 2g fibre, 2mg sodium.
Chia seeds, sesame seeds, almonds, cashews, peanuts and brazil nuts.
It’s jam-packed full of good stuff. It’s rich in heart healthy fats, selenium, fibre, protein, folate, vitamin E and folate. Plus, there’s no added sugar, salt or additives. It’s a great and novel product, whichever way you look at it. I like it for it’s crunchy texture and flavour. I choose to spread it on my toast in the morning and wholegrain crackers at snack times, and I often add a spoonful to my porridge and smoothies. I’ve also been known to cheekily eat it straight from the jar – don’t knock it till you try it.
It’s a wee bit harder to spread than other varieties.
Out of five: 4.5
It’s a winner. It’s a healthy and delicious option to include with your brekkie or as a snack. Just be mindful of portion control, as it is a high calorie food – stick (pun intended) to about a tablespoon at a time.
